Established in 2009 by James Ford, our journey began as James Ford Drainage, a sole trader focused on providing expert drainage installation and repair services. After a decade of working within the industry, James’s vision for a more comprehensive construction offering took shape. This led to the incorporation of the business in 2015 as James Ford Limited, trading as James Ford Construction. Since then, we’ve grown from a specialist drainage operation into a well-respected family-run construction and civil engineering company. Based on the outskirts of Richmond, North Yorkshire, we now directly employ over 20 skilled operatives and collaborate with many trusted subcontractors. Our evolution reflects our commitment to meeting the diverse needs of our clients while staying true to our core values of quality, reliability, and a hands-on, family-focused approach.

We’re passionate about actively contributing to the local area, especially through supporting grassroots sports and community initiatives. Over the years, we’ve proudly backed local teams, including the Richmond School Sixth Form and College Equestrian team and the Girls Cricket Team, helping young talent thrive. We’ve also enjoyed sponsoring a hole and The Teesside Union 2025 team at Richmond Golf Club, where James himself volunteers as the course director, dedicating his time to the club’s development.
